The Venue

Liberty Wildlife is an Arizona wildlife rehabilitation foundation that Wendy’s mother and father founded in 1981.  Until last year, it operated out of the mother of the bride’s home allowing Wendy the unique experience of growing up with eagles, hawks, and owls in her back yard.

Liberty has transformed from a small grass roots effort to save injured native Arizona birds, that would have otherwise been euthanized, to a huge not for profit organization that rescued nearly 8000 animals just last year.  Recently, thanks to the herculean efforts and leadership of Megan Mosby, Jan and Joe Miller, and the incredible monetary and volunteer support of hundreds if not thousands of others, Liberty Wildlife has moved into a permanent home located at 2600 E. Elwood Street, Phoenix, AZ 85040.

We are so excited to have our wedding hosted at this incredible new facility.  Guests can explore the grounds and meet the “Education Ambassadors”, animals whose lives were saved but were not able to be rehabilitated to survive on their own in the wild, upon their arrival and during the cocktail hour.  The ceremony will be held in the custom amphitheater that overlooks the Rio Salado desert landscape, and will be followed by a reception that includes dinner and dancing under the desert night sky.

How to get there:

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is only minutes away from Liberty Wildlife.  If you are staying at the Legacy Golf Resort (which we highly encourage out of town guests to do), there will be a shuttle to and from the venue.  For those that are local and driving, there is plenty of parking available out front.

After Party at the Legacy Bar:

The ceremony, happy hour, dinner and dancing will all be at Liberty Wildlife.  Anyone who is up for it can join us at the Legacy Golf Resort bar for some complimentary snacks and drinks for purchase.

Sunday Brunch:

Please join us if you can for brunch the next morning at the Legacy Golf Resort in the Palmer Room the for more socializing, exact times TBA.  We are so thankful to share our special day and would love to see you as much as we can while you’re here in sunny Arizona!
